Creating a green, vibrant place for Earls Barton

The development will respect and enhance the village’s established character, with plans carefully designed to complement both the immediate surroundings and the wider community.

At the centre of the scheme will be a new country park, creating a high-quality, accessible and sustainable green space for all to enjoy. The proposals also include the potential to expand the existing allotments or provide a new community orchard, providing further community benefits while supporting environmentally conscious and sustainable living.

Creating a green, vibrant place for Earls Barton

Key features

Green spaces and sustainable living

  • Improved meadow habitats
Proposed enhancements to the meadow grassland within the community park will create vibrant habitats for local wildlife and offer residents peaceful outdoor spaces.
  • Green open spaces and wildlife corridors
A new community park will provide enhanced wildlife corridors and the potential extension of the allotments or new community orchard will provide natural buffers, support local ecology and offer residents peaceful outdoor spaces.
  • 10% biodiversity net gain
Our proposals would be designed to deliver a minimum 10% biodiversity net gain. New planting and habitats will encourage local wildlife to thrive.
  • Significant carbon reduction
We are committed to ensuring new homes are zero carbon by 2030. Homes will meet the Future Homes Standard with a 75% carbon reduction, currently exceeding Part L 2021 requirements.
  • Nature-friendly design
Working in partnership with the RSPB, we are embedding nature-friendly features such as bird and bat boxes and hedgehog highways between gardens.
  • Walking and cycling routes
Safe, convenient walking and cycling paths will connect the site to the village services and facilities, encouraging sustainable travel and reducing car use.
